Kids 4 Sports originally formed in September 2009 in order to collect unwanted, gently-used sports equipment to give to less fortunate kids in the local area. It soon became apparent that equipment was not the only need. In 2011, Kids 4 Sports became a 501(c)(3) public charity, funding after-school sports leagues, coaches, and referees, in addition to collecting and purchasing sports equipment to give to underprivileged kids on the Peninsula.
